ServiceNav: what ‘we’ mean by a MultiTenant platform

Back to news

As the managed services market continues to grow, driven by the ever-increasing demand for cloud services, it’s essential that the ability to demonstrate quickly and effectively service quality isn’t hampered by the shortcomings of tools used to provide such evidence.

Challenges

When onboarding new customers, MSPs may be faced with an initial tooling challenge: to incorporate the new customer environment into the MSPs own preferred platform, or be asked to utilise the customers already installed tool. The latter immediately results in unwanted product sprawl: multiple iterations of multiple tools, with the accompanying loss of a single overarching view (single pane of glass), as well as additional administration/training burden potentially compromising efficiency.

It can sometimes be the case where, even if the MSP has a preferred tool, the product may not lend itself to being shared securely across multiple environments; sometimes requiring dedicated installations for each customer, thereby multiplying license costs, administrative effort and hardware costs (due to the lack of centralisation/consolidation)

The ServiceNav approach

We at Coservit think that there is a better way. Through the following features of ServiceNavs’ architecture and operation…

  • SaaS architecture: one single portal used by MSPs and their end customers alike; with a built-in security model that ensures that individual users only have access to the functionality and managed devices appropriate to their needs
  • Agentless monitoring: deployment of dedicated monitoring boxes to each customer is all that is required to bring key data into the SaaS platform for that customer, and make it available ONLY to those who have the need (no cross-contamination of data between customers)
  • Hierarchy-level configuration of Reports and Dashboards: all users have the potential to create their own custom dashboards and reports without impacting on the reports and preferred views of other customers
  • Only by having visibility of all your customers through a single tool/interface can you truly have the information at your fingertips to make informed decisions on prioritisation of tasks
